For the love of Sandpoint

Sandpoint, located at the top of the Idaho Panhandle, is a small community with a big heart. We are getting ready to celebrate Winter Carnival this week and it will be kicked off with a homespun Parade of Lights through the downtown streets and will end with fireworks on the hill at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. Please click the link below to view the plethora of fun events being offered.

Sadly, our community experienced a tragic fire on Monday morning. Thankfully there were no lives lost and no one was injured but there was catastrophic damage done to a 100+ year old building at the corner of Bridge and Main in downtown Sandpoint. There were also 5 businesses that were lost. See the article in the Spokesman Review for additional details.

The beauty of living and working in a small town is that neighbors pitch in and assist quickly when disaster strikes. There is a fundraiser already being planned, by Lauren Adair, to help the plight of the businesses that were lost to the fire. It will be held February 23 at 4:00 p.m. at 317 N First Avenue. The call to action was "Come join us and see how the Power of Community will help us rise above the ashes."
